During rare moments in American Quarter Horse history, a single horse bursts onto the scene with outstanding talent and the ability to pass that talent on to his offspring, so that it changes the breed. Zippo Pine Bar did just that. As the most prolific pleasure horse sire in history, he redirected a discipline and left his mark on the show ring.

Bred by Lloyd Geweke of Ord, Nebraska, the 1969 sorrel stallion was by racehorse turned pleasure horse sire Zippo Pat Bars and out of AQHA champion Dollie Pine by Poco Pine. He was purchased as a weanling by Norman Reynolds of Lexington, Nebraska, who helped develop the horse into a show winner.

However, Zippo Pine Bar's greatest accomplishments came as a sire. He tops two of the leading sires' lists and ranks in the top-10 of four others. Out of 26 registered foal crops producing more than 1,600 foals, he sired 16 world champions that won 20 world championships, 32 reserve world championships and are earners of more than 57,000 AQHA points.

The legendary pleasure stallion continued breeding until 1997 at age 28. He was euthanized in 1998 after suffering a stroke. In 2000, Zippo Pine Bar was inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame.
